When it Rains

It rained one sultry April day. The rain took away all the heat and probably some of the Anxiety of the 'Corona Days'. The poet in me was evoked after a long time that day when it rained. Not only Water is replenished when it rains you know, my literary creativity was also awakened. Here is the poem 👇

She descended from Eden, the Rain

trickled to relieve us of all pain,

Her tranquilizing touch made everything wet,

And those cascading caresses removed everyone's fret.

Trees bent as if to acknowledge her mighty presence,

while the cuckoos that sat chirping on the sills drank in her sweet essence.

She sent her humble precedents, the Rumbling Thunder,

And the Blinding Lightning that announced that wherever

She'd arrive, the ground would be showered in a million diamonds.

She spoke not of the kings and the legends

of a bygone Era, but of the injustice wreathed to Humanity,

because of Man's own Vanity,

which has set forth a disastrous calamity

That is driving him to Insanity.

But she also whispers in his deaf ears,

asking him to forget his fears

And bids him to be refreshed by her Care

And in future act fair and square!
